Creating improvements to an existing scheme in order to take fuller advantage of a brilliant setting makes universal sense. The charge is to align those improvements with the functional needs of the structure itself while preserving its essential character. In this case the objective was to provide a more strategic location for a club grill room and bar in order to realize one of the best views on Cape Cod. Enclosing a section of outdoor porch was the answer. By way of a creative folding door system, the remaining exterior piece becomes a virtual extension of the new space and its expanded program. Interior possibility is optimized and so is the impact of the site and venue.
