Tournament Players Club, Norton, Mass.
The American PGA needed to build one of their storied Tournament Players Club courses in New England and they ended up outside Boston in the town of Norton, Mass. Paul Weber Architecture was among a group of firms competing for the design of the clubhouse. The office drew upon stunning site conditions and a spectacular stretch of unsullied landscape as a point of departure. Appropriately, the vernacular of established New England architectural style became a prime consideration. Befitting the rural location, shingles and clapboards were the choice for exterior siding, anchored by stonework comprising the base of the building.
